The Roots of Violence
During "Domestic Violence" workshops for the health promoters in each of their communities, the promoters split into small groups to consider the factors that contribute to violence.
(The small group on the right has two factors listed so far.)
Some groups thought of specific behaviors (such as playing music loudly in the middle of the night inciting murderous thoughts in the neighbors); ...
(Four factors listed now.)
some groups thought of external factors (such as drug and alcohol use, or financial stress); ...
(Five factors listed.)
and other groups identified qualities (such as rudeness, dishonesty, and lack of respect).
This group has six factors listed, and time is up!
Time to share their thoughts with the other members of the health promoter group in their community.
Each community health promoter group is developing their own interventions to address violence in their community, depending upon the problems they perceive and the resources their community has to offer.
