Spreading the Good News
We held a recent workshop in a local church in a smaller town north of San Pedro. The church building is small and square and yellow. Several years ago it had been an electical shop where the owner showed me how he made transformers from scratch. It sits on a corner at a busy intersection.
The interior is sparse, but includes plastic chairs, a lectern, a clock, and a desk that doubles as an altar when needed (and whose drawers offer a convenient storage space for a Bible and other church materials). The white board on the easel is ours for the workshop. There is also a sound system.
The sound system is interesting; the speakers are directed out of the building. I guess if the mission is to share the Good News, then the Word has to get out of the church somehow.
