While making home visits, Daysi and I dropped-in on a young mother with a newborn. She, her husband and infant daughter were living in a small corrugated metal shack that was sitting on the roof of another house! The contrast between the house you see here and the little tin shack on its roof was striking.

On the way down, I asked Daysi to pause on the stairs. Daysi and I both hate this type of uneven, not level, narrow stairs without any railings. They give us vertigo. (Yes, I know, Daysi is smiling for the photo, but that's not really how she feels.)

Carrying a newborn down them just seemed unwise, but the mother we were visiting had no choice.
